FWA Berlin Fashion Week

Fashion Week & Editorial Photography in Berlin: FWA, Campaign & Portfolio Work

Fashion photography in Berlin covers a lot of ground — from runway coverage at Fashion Week to brand campaign shoots and editorial portrait work out on location. This spring I had the chance to do all three, and I wanted to put together a look at how each type of fashion shoot is approached differently, whether you’re a brand, a model, or a stylist looking for a photographer in Berlin.

Shooting FWA Berlin Fashion Week

Fashion Week photography is a different discipline entirely from a planned studio or location shoot. There’s no controlling the light, the pace, or the crowd — the job is to read the room, anticipate the moment, and be positioned before it happens. Covering FWA Berlin Fashion Week meant working fast, staying unobtrusive, and trusting instinct over setup.

If you’re a designer or brand showing at Fashion Week and need reliable event and runway coverage in Berlin, this kind of fast-paced documentary approach is exactly the service I offer alongside my studio and location work.

A Campaign Collaboration with Lamoda.me

Working with model Agnese and stylist Iphi on a campaign shoot for Lamoda.me by Castin was a completely different pace — planned looks, considered locations around Berlin, and a clear brief to work from. Campaign and lookbook photography like this is about consistency: every image needs to sit together as part of one cohesive set, with matching tone, colour, and styling from frame to frame.

This is the kind of collaborative brand work I enjoy most — sitting down with a stylist beforehand, understanding the brand’s visual language, and building a shot list that delivers a gallery a brand can actually use across their site and socials.

Editorial Portraits Around the City

Between the planned shoots, I also spent time building out purely editorial portrait work — using Berlin’s architecture, natural light, and street backdrops as the set. These are the images that let a model’s portfolio breathe a little: less about a specific brand or brief, more about mood, styling, and strong, simple portraiture.

Editorial sessions like this work well for models building or refreshing a portfolio, and for anyone who wants portraits with a more considered, fashion-led feel than a standard portrait session.
